July 2022 Tending list

Alright July let’s do this!! After completing the Q3 goal refresh I feel much more motivated and inspired with my goals and the July tending list already feels and looks different [to me at least]

This is what my July tending list consists of:

Monthly action items

I’ve got a lot of big picture projects on here in order to start making progress on them. I may carry them over to next month to continue them but we shall see.

Declutter the under-bed storage - I am absolutely fed of the amount of random boxes and clutter that is lurking around from old online purchases.

Start ‘Building A Second Brain’ – ok so technically I started reading this book in the very end of June but it’s on my tending list because it’s a huge part of the personal knowledge management system that I’m looking to create for my life and I want to read it slowly and take actionable notes on it. Being one chapter in – I am absolutely fascinated by the possibility of streamlining my daily task management. Watch this space as there will definitely be a blog post coming soon.

Write down training plan options – I am finally doing regular cardio sessions in the gym but feel like I’m getting bored and need to mix it up. With that in mind I’m designing my own gym training routine to include the treadmill, rowing machine, cross training and various weight and floor exercises like tricep dips, plank holds and plan twists and crab walks etc. I will do a detailed blog post towards the middle or end of Q3.

Explore deeper why for the coaching business – this is something my own business coach mentioned to me and got me thinking about implementing it as part of my deeper vision for the long-term business.

Birthday fun – there are quite a few birthdays to celebrate and I am totally here for them. Getting to spend time with loved ones is honestly one of my favourite things to do along with book reading.

Make 2 new dishes from the Jamie Oliver recipe book – I hate cooking, I really REALLY do. But I’m not rubbish at it. I just need to come up with more varied things to cook and the Jamie Oliver 5 ingredient cook book is brilliant. I’ve made the meatball carbonara on repeat over a 100 times and sense that my husband is now a tad bored but who knows lol. Anyway I am definitely keen to learn more simple recipes so I shall be consulting this book and doing my best to cook at least 2 new recipes this month!

August Blog content – I’m writing my July blog post and already focusing on August as part of the content batching process so having this as an action item for the July tending list makes sense! I want to include this as a recurring thing on my monthly tending lists but we shall see how this month goes!

Start ‘The Artist’s Way’ – I started reading the book years ago and didn’t get past chapter one because life was just to hectic. Life hasn’t slowed down but I crave the pockets of peace and creativity that I had before so I’m looking to this book to help me expand my creative mind. I definitely need to do a whole blog post on the Artist’s Way because it’s less of a book and more of a creative exploration or course if you like.

Weekly Action Items:

Alright so my weekly actions are the weekly habits that I’m focusing on for most of 2022:

So weekly cleaning, budget checks, grocery shopping, meal planning, coaching group calls, facials, exfoliator cream and filling in my 90 day journal. Follow along on Instagram to see how I’m getting on with all of these and in particular the 90 day journey.

Daily action items

Similar to my weekly items the daily items are also habits that I’m keen to build:

1 to 3 tasks per day plus posting a coaching offer on IG – I’m keeping it simple with the task management system. At least until I have my full system in place.

Thoughtwork/ Thought download or braindump time – this is close to my heart as mindset work is the most powerful work anyone can do. Not always fun but VERY needed and if you only do one thing in your future as a goal I would recommend doing daily thought work.

Cardio session/ 8K steps – I want to move much more daily so I set a minimum step cound for days when I don’t do a full cardio session.

2 Pieces of fruit – I managed to get better at eating one piece of fruit in June and whilsts not perfect I want to try eating more so let’s see how two pieces goes!

500 ml water – I’m getting much better at drinking water but rather than increase this goal and make it harder I want to keep it simple and straightforward to do. Often when the goal is 500ml I find that I drink close to 800ml or even a litre because it’s not impossible. OR it doesn’t FEEL impossible.

Wordle – I’m bringing back the puzzle as a daily action item because I absolutely enjoy this puzzle and sometimes, I do forget that it exists. It’s my daily burst of joy and honestly gives me such a buzz and it’s totally FREE.

Reading time [15mins] – I set a daily minimum for reading time because in June there were so many days when I really wanted to read but either wouldn’t allow myself to or put it off to later in the day. I have so many powerful fabulous books to read and I want to read them and start putting them into action bit by bit.

I am SO excited to see how this all goes. If you’re curious too then definitely follow me over on Instagram at Girl_In_Blue_London for all the inside information.

See you in the next blog post!
