The two people I believe everyone needs in their life:

A coach and a counsellor

1)     A counsellor – to have someone to chat to you when things happen in realtime in life (or as close to as possible. It’s good to have someone that isn’t directly involved or super close to you help you navigate what is happening in your life and it can often help you shift perspective in a healthy way. I’ve tried it and can’t recommend it enough. It does take time to find a counsellor who is the right fit so my advice is take your time and don’t feel guilty to change counsellors if you feel the current one isn’t working. It needs to feel natural and comfortable so that you can open up and feel safe to be vulnerable. You do yourself no favours by pretending to be someone your not infront of someone who can really help you break limiting beliefs and blocks

2)     A life coach – now the reason I say this isn’t because I am one but because coaches push you to explore and challenge your limits and also question your dreams. But also they encourage you to go after them in a healthy way. And not it’s not all rainbows and pots of gold. Coaching also involves being vulnerable and being willing to be vulnerable and show up. That takes energy and time and serious decision making. Mindset work is some of the most powerful work you will ever do in your life and it creates a ripple effect that you may not feel on day one but by day 100 you will definitely notice the shifts. Every little breakthrough compounds and compounds until you heal and find that you look to the past with a new perspective. It’s a very freeing feeling.

Both counselling and coaching are very cathartic processes that can allow a person to radically change their life and often within a year or less.

If you’ve tried one or both of these how have you felt they’ve gone? I’d love to know if you’re willing to share. DM me if you prefer and let’s start a conversation.
