Celebrating The Wins

One of the best things you can do to change your life is celebrate every little win.

This is honestly such a powerful thing to do and quite simple to get started with.

If you want to get started right now then on a piece of paper write today’s date and then write down 3 good things that happened today. I call these wins but you can call them anything you like e.g. victories, triumphs, good things or bonuses to name a few titles.

>>>>Go on! Set a time for 10 minutes and go write them down NOW!>>>>>

Also: a win means anything good that happened e.g. Waking up without pressing snooze, having a lovely cup of coffee or tea in the morning, waking up feeling happier than yesterday, making a smoothie when you were tempted to have a bacon sandwich and so many others. At it’s simplest a great win is waking up and making your bed or even going to brush your teeth and wash your face. There is NO win that is too small so don’t talk yourself out of writing it all down.

A win can be internal or external. Internal as in something that you did or external such as bumping into a friend in the supermarket or getting an unexpected phone call when you were staring at your phone. A win can come from absolutely anywhere!

Once you’ve finished keep that piece of paper on your desk or in open sight all day. When you next see it challenge yourself to find one more win and write it down.

Negative thoughts that can come up

When you started writing down your wins did you see any of these thoughts pop up? Or something along these lines?

“I have nothing worth celebrating!”

“I’ve not done anything big enough to celebrate”

“I don’t have time to sit down and celebrate the small things”

“I want to have big things to celebrate”

“I won’t celebrate until I’m done”

“I’m not worthy of celebrating”

“I’m a useless person, why would I celebrate anything?”

THIS is the mind drama that our brains like to create around celebrating and when you start listening to these thoughts guess what happens? You don’t feel like celebrating and then you don’t focus on the good that is all around you and then you stop noticing them altogether.

Because good things are always in your line of vision, you just need to choose to see them.

It’s the philosophy of choosing to see everything as a miracle or nothing as a miracle and that choice, as always, is yours for the taking. Remember that every time your brain tries to talk you out of finding the wins.

A final point on wins.

The more you celebrate the little wins the more life will give you plenty to celebrate. The secret is that all those good things were always there, but you didn’t actively choose to see them AND celebrate them. When you start celebrating and really seeing all the good things you will honestly feel SO different. You’re not conning yourself, you’re simply tuning into all the good that is available right now where you are.

And from that place – change becomes the most authentic and purposeful thing ever. You can change from a place of loving your life and wanting more as opposed to changing from a place of hating everything that you currently have and being frustrated and rushing the process of change.
